Glossary

  • Acupuncture- A system of integrated medicine that involves piercing of the skin, with needles, used to alleviate pain.
  • Alternative Medicine- Any of a range of medical therapies that are not regarded as orthodox, by the medical profession.
  • Antioxidants- A substance that protects cells from the damage caused by free radicals.
  • Bio-Resonance- A type of therapy used in holistic or complimentary medicine, in which a machine is used to measure the frequency of energy wavelengths coming from the body.
  • Broad Spectrum- Containing all of the therapeutic compounds, of the cannabis/hemp plant, except the THC
  • Cannabinoids- Any of a group of closely related compounds, which include Cannabidiol and the active constituents of cannabis
  • CBD- Abbreviation for Cannabidiol
  • Chiropractic- A system of integrated medicine based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints.
  • Full Spectrum- Containing the full spectrum of therapeutic compounds from the cannabis/hemp plant.
  • Herbalism- The study of the practice of the medicines and therapeutic use of plants
  • Holistic-(in medicine) characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of a disease.
  • Homeopath-A doctor of Homeopathic Medicine
  • Homeopathy- the treatment of disease by minute doses of natural substances that in a healthy person would produce symptoms of disease.
  • Isolate- 1 single compound is isolated
  • Massage- The rubbing and kneading of the muscles and joints, in the body, with the hands…especially to relieve tension and pain
  • Meditate- Think deeply or focus ones mind, for a period of time, in silence; to engage in contemplation (as a method of relaxation).
  • Micro-Current- An electro-therapeutic modality that uses low levels of electrical current (less than 1 mAmp), to facilitate circulation and cellular healing or to reduce pain and edema.
  • Nutrient-a substance that provides nourishment essential for growth and the maintenance of life.
  • Organic- Derived from living matter
  • Phytocannabinoids- Cannabinoids that occur naturally in the Cannabis plant
  • Super-Foods- Nutrient-Rich foods that are considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.
  • Terpenes- Any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons, found in the essential oils of plants
  • THC- Abbreviation for Tetrahydrocannabidiol
  • Transdermal- Relating to the application of a medicine or drug through the skin,, so it is absorbed slowly into the body.
